A word to the wise

This blog aims to gather links and  reviews from a very specific niche of video productions, which came to be known as "toygun" or "gunfun".

Like almost everyone, everywhere , I played some cops & robbers, or cowboys & indians games with my neighborhood friends, when we were kids. Sometimes even girls would join in with the boys, also running around, shootings machine guns or bows and arrows and stuff.

However,  I was surprised to discover that some people actually make videos depicting such fun and games, with the added twist of featuring scantily clad women in them! And even more surprised to discover that I found them strangely fascinating.

Where does this fascination come from? Is it nostalgia, or a desire to go back to childhood, wishing human relations were so simple like they seemed back then?
Is it some kind of role-reversal? Running around, fighting and shooting, is something usually reserved for men.
Is it a power, or dominance, fantasy? After all, the loser has to lie there, helpless to whatever happens to them... Or it may be simply an excuse to see jiggling chests and shaking backsides (it's no coincidence that almost  all these videos feature long machine gunnings...), without the subconscious guilt of watching something overtly sexual. Or all of the above, or none of them!

An important point is that these videos, as I understand them, aren't supposed to be realistic. There should be no blood at all (although over the top buckets of fake blood can be loads of fun in their own right :)They should have at most stylized violence. Over-acting is par the course. And the "victims" will get up and join the fight again.

It goes without saying that real violence and guns, against anyone (but women in particular) is not the point of these videos,  and should be condemned and fought against at every opportunity.

So, if you are a fan of girls with their toyguns, or just find the concept intriguing, read on...
